Canoeing on the Vecht River

Drievorden – Brandlecht Route

This route starts in the middle of meadows and farmland, offering a two-hour paddle along the Vecht. Along the way, you’ll encounter small rapids and a fish ladder. If you’re at the front of the group, you might even spot kingfishers regularly! The endpoint is in a natural setting with no facilities, but we provide shuttle service for drivers back to their cars at the starting point.

Brandlecht – Nordhorn Route

Starting near Brandlecht, this route takes you towards the Vechtesee in Nordhorn. This section of the Vecht is calmer than the previous stretch, featuring just one rapid and the fish ladder. The trip takes approximately 1.5 hours.

At the end of the journey, you’ll find Pier 99, a great restaurant where you can relax, eat, and drink after your canoeing adventure!

FAQ

Can I rent a single canoe?2025-03-13T13:37:52+00:00

No, we organize canoe trips. You can’t rent a single boat from us.

Do you also transport bicycles to the end point?2025-03-13T13:38:51+00:00

No, our canoe trailers are not suitable for that…

How do we get back to the boarding point?2025-03-13T13:39:46+00:00

We will bring the drivers back to the boarding point where your cars have been left. Then they can drive the cars back to the exit point.

Will we be given watertight barrels?2025-03-13T13:40:47+00:00

No, you can give valuables to the instructor who drives to the end point with the car and trailer. That is safer than a barrel where the lid sometimes turns out not to be closed properly.
