Frequently Asked Questions

For each activity, we have a list of specific frequently asked questions. Below, you’ll find the general frequently asked questions.

Most activities have a minimum number of participants, but I am with fewer. How does that work?2025-03-13T13:06:27+00:00

Almost all our activities are supervised by instructors, hence the minimum number. Adventure King is not a rental company, but we organize activities and events. So including supervision, and that is why we need a minimum number of participants per activity. Are you with 8 and is the minimum number 10? No problem, you pay for 10. We do not merge groups to reach the minimum number.

What do we do when it rains?2025-03-13T13:05:30+00:00

In the Netherlands it rains 7% of the time. So we live in a country where it is dry 93% of the time. Not a bad score in our opinion! This percentage cannot be influenced in any way by weather forecasts, weather apps, weathermen or weatherwomen. So just bring a raincoat! If an activity cannot take place due to the weather for safety reasons (thunderstorms and abseiling from the castle are not a good combination), we will move the activity to a later time, for example. There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!

I would like to make a reservation, but I don’t know the exact number of participants yet.2025-03-13T13:04:14+00:00

Then you probably have a minimum number of participants that you will definitely manage. We base the order confirmation on that and we have contact one or two weeks in advance about the exact number.

What about safety and insurance?2025-03-13T13:03:22+00:00

Adventure King is a member of Recron and uses the VeBON safety standard. If you want to use the VeBON safety standard, you commit yourself to setting up and maintaining a safety system. This system is checked and certified by the TÜV. In practice, this means that, for example, all our instructors have first aid and the maintenance of all materials that are used for this purpose is documented (climbing ropes and mountain bikes are, paddles are not). The TÜV also checks whether we have appropriate business liability insurance and accident insurance. And we have, since 2004.

And what about alcohol?2025-03-13T13:02:20+00:00

Let’s take each other seriously. Our instructors don’t drink beer either. In 2013, a horse and carriage arrived, with 16 heavily intoxicated guys in it, one of whom was about to get married. First, 16 men stood in a row against the outside wall of the reception area to pee and then thought it was strange that we didn’t want to climb with them anymore… It really happened. So, after the activities you deserve a beer!
